Position Overview
The Music Teacher (Special Subjects) position supports the instructional process by developing student success in music education. The role involves supervising students, developing lesson plans, delivering group and individual instruction within established curriculum guidelines, collaborating with staff, and maintaining communication with parents regarding student progress.
Essential Functions
Instruction & Planning
Adapts classroom materials for individualized learning plans
Administers subject-specific assessments
Demonstrates methods for classroom and subject-specific assignments
Instructs students to improve academic success
Prepares various materials in written and digital formats
Communication & Collaboration
Advises parents/guardians on student progress
Collaborates with staff and community resources
Participates in various meetings
Responds to inquiries from teachers, parents, and administrators
Student Management
Manages student behavior
Oversees students in various educational environments
Reports incidents
Responds to emergency situations
Directs assistant teachers, student teachers, and volunteers
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in job-related area
Required Credentials
Teaching Credential
Valid Driver's License & Evidence of Insurability
Skills & Knowledge
Proficient in multiple technical tasks
Basic math calculations
Assessment implementation
Standard office equipment operation
Knowledge of educational codes, policies, and regulations
