Campbell County School District Start Date: August 7, 2024

Location & Status

  • Position split between Cottonwood (40 miles south of Gillette) and 4J elementary schools
  • Position is open until filled
  • Full-Time (1 position available)

Salary Range

  • Minimum: $52,500
  • Maximum: $82,500 per year

Position Overview

The Music Teacher (Special Subjects) position supports the instructional process by developing student success in music education. The role involves supervising students, developing lesson plans, delivering group and individual instruction within established curriculum guidelines, collaborating with staff, and maintaining communication with parents regarding student progress.

Essential Functions

Instruction & Planning

  • Adapts classroom materials for individualized learning plans
  • Administers subject-specific assessments
  • Demonstrates methods for classroom and subject-specific assignments
  • Instructs students to improve academic success
  • Prepares various materials in written and digital formats

Communication & Collaboration

  • Advises parents/guardians on student progress
  • Collaborates with staff and community resources
  • Participates in various meetings
  • Responds to inquiries from teachers, parents, and administrators

Student Management

  • Manages student behavior
  • Oversees students in various educational environments
  • Reports incidents
  • Responds to emergency situations
  • Directs assistant teachers, student teachers, and volunteers

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in job-related area

Required Credentials

  • Teaching Credential
  • Valid Driver's License & Evidence of Insurability

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficient in multiple technical tasks
  • Basic math calculations
  • Assessment implementation
  • Standard office equipment operation
  • Knowledge of educational codes, policies, and regulations
  • Understanding of child development and behavioral management

  • Schedule activities and events
  • Work with diverse individuals/groups
  • Problem-solving and action planning
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Adapt to changing priorities
  • Work flexible hours

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
  • Some climbing and balancing
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Significant fine finger dexterity
  • Performed under minimal temperature variations in generally hazard-free environment

Additional Requirements

  • Criminal Background Clearance
  • Maintains Certificates and/or Licenses
